This was an easy fix with a short extension plug. This corsair unit comes with all the right plugs – but not suited to my hard drive mount on the IN WIN 303 case. Then power, I chose the 650 mid watt range.
RYZEN 1600 PCMARK 10 UPDATE
I can always update with another 8 gigs – of this FAST RAM. Next ram – I chose 2×4 8Gb Corsair 3000MHz.

Its a cheap Sata drive – but again very fast. The next was the hard drive, here I chose a 1Tb Seagate barracuda. These SSD cards are very fast so I opted out for the Samsung 960 Evo at 250 Gb. I wanted a build that had no bottlenecks (all the previous ones had in the past), so my decisions were to get a fast SSD for fast access to the Hard drive and GPU. $100 is a lot to pay for +6-10% speed, so I opted for the Ryand its included fan. That’s $405 total, as opposed to $299 for the Ryzen 5 1600. Factor in an extra $40 to $100 for a CPU cooler. There is another factor, some chips come with a fan cooler – and some don’t. Very clever, and hats off to AMD.Īfter deciding on the chip type (Ryzen), which one do you buy? The price in Australia varies from $150 for the AMD Ryzen 3 1200, to $696 for the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X. Without going into detail, this chip will see what you are doing, and optimize the throughput of the processing data stream. I read about the chip architecture, and that it is actually a thinking chip, sounded exciting to me. Here was a chip that had more cores, more threads and for less price. The more I read about the new Ryzen chip the more my colors changed from blue to red. AMD is their next rival, but have been pretty dead in the water for the last 5 years – but as of late the game has changed. I’ve always thought that Intel – the chip builders have had a hold on the market and they do control it. My current Toshiba L650 laptop was just too old and slow.
RYZEN 1600 PCMARK 10 PLUS
I also wanted a 1 terabyte fast hard drive, 8 to 16 gigs of ram plus a medium sized box to put it in. I was looking at an i7 Core Intel build, a fast graphics card and an SSD start up.

Their answers were curt and clipped on information, so I went off to the web. In-store I chatted to the local Chinese merchants. This time I wanted a bit of bling and something new that wouldn’t break the bank. I’ve always had a bland box, and a business type build. Cut out all the unwanted stuff and get a good looking machine. As a note I’m putting in a disclaimer, follow and build along but don’t blame me for any of your problems! So I started looking at Intel chip based computer boxes. Do you want a fast machine for: Gaming? Word processing? Light internet? Or powerful number crunching? Seeing as I’m in Australia, I’ll quote relevant costs here and when I built the box (October 2017) and quote normal retail prices. I went from being the uninitiated to a pro! Well its a bit of an exaggeration – but there is satisfaction in building a computer and getting it all working well. The tablet is what really started my new build. I built a medium sized rig to handle graphics, illustrations, vector drawings, photographic editing and – most of all, to work with my Wacom tablet. So you too would like to do a Ryzen computer build, well I can give you a few good tips. The Rychip is under the fan radiator Background
